Chinastyles Previous Experience:
Chinastyles band members come from former rock acts Rooster (Ben), Get Amped (Rick and Tim) and Pitchshifter (Jason). Through these bands they have achieved over a quarter of a million record sales worldwide. They all bring to Chinastyle extensive touring experience, and a particular love of touring Asia where the band has their roots.
How did Chinastyle form?
In their former bands they met, and performed at the Henan International Festival in China. As the official press story goes, Ben, Rick, Tim, and Jason met during tough times for their former bands, but something good was to come out of it. At the Henan International Festival in China they discovered a mutual love for touring Asia, a need for change, and a common musical direction. Back in the U.K with the freedom to start again, Chinastyle was born.
Where did the name Chinastyle come from?
Sometimes band names are plucked randomly out of a brainstorming session, but not Chinastyle. This name originates from the band members meeting in China, and is a reflection of the impact Chinas diversity had on them.
What do Chinastyle sound like?
A rockband with a big sound, but one which won't hurt your ears. The four members of Chinastyle have interweaved unique lyrics, infectious guitar riffs, and soaring melodies. Their press material describes them as a band that will "excite the senses and enlighten the soul", and there's no better description than that.
What's the future for Chinastyle?
Chinastyles debut single, Trip The Light Fantastic was released on April 28th, an uptempo rock epic that serves as a great introduction to the band. Although it failed to reach the higher echelons of the chart, it enabled to band to reach out to their former fans, and gain many new ones through online promotion, and a performance video shot by director Regan Hall. The song is avaiable to music fans via itunes.
As testiment of their instant musical connection the band have over 20 songs ready and waiting for their debut album, due for release in July, and a second single is also in the pipeline.
